About Canmore Properties
Canmore Properties is an independent, buyer-first guide to real estate in Canmore, Alberta. We publish the numbers, rules and trade-offs that a good local buyer’s agent would tell you on the first call, and then connect you with one.
Who runs it
Canmore Properties is an independent guide to buying in the Bow Valley, run in partnership with Cory Hand, REALTOR® with Grassroots Realty Group. We are not a brokerage. Real estate services, meaning showings, offers and representation, are provided by that licensee and their brokerage, who are licensed and regulated by the Real Estate Council of Alberta.
Enquiries come to us first. We answer what we can ourselves and pass the rest to our Canmore real estate agent, a licensed Alberta REALTOR® working in the Bow Valley.
Editorial standards
- Every price, tax rate and rule carries a date and a source. If we couldn’t verify something, it’s marked for verification rather than asserted.
- Market figures come from public portals, published board statistics and press reporting, each cited on the page it appears on.
- Guides are written by our editorial team against primary sources: the Town of Canmore, RECA, CREA, Parks Canada, Alberta Land Titles, Statistics Canada. We update them when the rules change; the Livability Tax and tourist-home bylaw pages are checked each quarter.
- Where we could not confirm something from a primary source, we say so on the page rather than asserting it.
- We don’t publish reviews we haven’t seen at their source, and we don’t rank other agents.
- Photography on this site is illustrative and AI generated. It shows the character of a street or a building type, not a specific property, and nothing pictured is for sale.
What we don’t do
We don’t give legal, tax or mortgage advice, we tell you when you need a lawyer, an accountant or a licensed mortgage broker. We don’t display MLS® System listings unless our partner’s brokerage has licensed the feed. And we don’t sell your information to anyone other than the partner brokerage you asked to hear from (see the privacy policy).
